The Q1 PaperCut Hive updates will be available to you beginning on April 24th, 2025, and we are excited to share what is in store. From new features to key improvements, this update brings powerful enhancements to streamline your printing management. What is PaperCut Hive?
PaperCut Hive is a cloud-native print management solution that has MFP embedded software as well as IoT and Edge Mesh technology. Essentially what this means is that PaperCut Hive allows you to manage your printing without the need and maintenance of a print server on your local network while maintaining high level security. PaperCut Hive is simple to set up, use, and can scale to businesses of any size.

Quotas For Print Jobs
Admins will now have the ability to assign users a balance, from which print and copy job costs will be deducted. Admins also have the ability to restrict a user’s account to stop print job releases when the balance reaches zero or an overdraft limit, with copy job control to follow in future releases.
New Print Delivery Options
For those embracing zero-trust security and segmented networks, PaperCut is introducing new print delivery protocols. These updates will allow MFDs (Multi-Function Devices) to operate independently of the edge mesh, so you won’t need to rely on a local client machine or keep an always-on computer running. This means smoother, more efficient printing with less complexity.
Multi-Org Login
Admins will be able to select which tenancies to access when logging in.
Print Queue Deployment
Admins will be able to deploy direct print queues to users, with the added flexibility to deploy secure and direct print queues based on location, users, or networks.
** PaperCut is wrapping up a few finishing touches on the Print Queue Deployment feature, which means it won’t be ready by the previously mentioned release milestones. However, it will still be included in this release, and they will share a separate set of release milestones for this feature soon.**
As we are approaching the release of these updates, these Q1 PaperCut Hive updates are just the beginning of even more innovations to come.
