Portage Production Garage

Production printing is playing an increasingly important role in how businesses operate, offering greater control, flexibility, and cost savings compared to outsourcing. In this blog, we pull back the curtain on what that looks like here at Rhyme—specifically at our Portage, WI location.

You’ll get a glimpse into our deep roots in the Portage community, how our commitment to service has evolved over time, and the ways our local team supports clients through production print technology. Whether you’re already working with us or just getting to know us, we hope this gives you a clearer picture of who we are, what we do, and how we can help.

Rhyme Portage HistoryRhyme Drug Interior

Our history is deeply rooted in Portage, WI. Our founder, Frank Rhyme, purchased a corner drugstore in Portage in 1886. The store offered stationery and office products, and by 1945, it included typewriters alongside pharmaceuticals. In June of 1946, Rhyme Supply Company was founded as a typewriter and office machine shop—and we’ve been growing ever since!

As technology evolved, so did we—expanding both our offerings and our reach. With offices throughout Wisconsin, we proudly serve our communities with the same commitment we’ve had since day one: to always deliver on our promises to co-workers and customers alike.

Remodeled Portage Production Garage

Portage Remodel

Continued growth has led to expansion—and most recently, a remodel of our Portage location! This renovation transformed the space into what we now call the Rhyme Production Garage—a dedicated area for hands-on demonstrations, especially for production print devices. It’s the perfect spot to see the technology in action.

While Portage is our headquarters, it's just one of Rhyme’s many locations— each staffed by incredible individuals committed to helping your business succeed. Here, we’re sharing insights from a few of our dedicated team members who play a key role in supporting Production services in the Portage area. As you work with us, you’ll likely get to know each of them.

Client Managers – Allan & Barry

Allan and Barry, two of our dedicated Client Managers, are here to guide and support you every step of the way. They focus on understanding your business—what you need today and where you're headed tomorrow—to recommend well-rounded solutions that truly fit. From equipment and software to support programs and services, their goal is simple: to help your business run smoothly and grow with confidence.

Regional Sales Manager – Hogan

Hogan plays a key role in supporting our West Region Sales Team, helping to ensure every client receives the attention and care they deserve. Beyond his work with Sales, he regularly partners with teams across the company—including Marketing, Administration, Service, Contracting, and Leadership—to keep everyone aligned and moving toward shared goals.

Client Services - Jon

Jon supports our clients from the very first meeting all the way through ongoing service and long-term success. He works closely with client managers and organizations to design tailored solutions, leading technical demos, running testing and proof of concepts, and managing the setup and rollout of new equipment and software. He’s also a key resource for the service team—often stepping in to help resolve more complex or escalated support requests.

Service Technicians – Ray & Matt

Ray and Matt are two of the skilled technicians serving the Portage area—and you may see them in your office from time to time. They follow a detailed, multi-point checklist to keep your equipment performing at its best. If they spot any additional issues during a visit, they’ll take care of them on the spot whenever possible, avoiding the need for a return trip. Because they’re not limited by a parts budget, they have the freedom to make sure your devices are fully up and running—without cutting corners.

Dispatch Coordinator – Teresa

Teresa is one of the key people behind the scenes making sure help gets to you when you need it. As a service dispatcher, she coordinates the technicians who respond when issues come up with your devices. Teresa works closely with the Service team and can also help connect you with your Client Manager if it looks like a different device might be a better fit for your needs.

Senior Help Desk Technician – Mark

Mark, our Senior Help Desk Technician, plays an essential role throughout the entire lifecycle of a device—from setup to ongoing support. Before installation, he ensures devices are configured correctly and ready for deployment. Afterward, he works directly with clients to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Mark may also work with you for more advanced support, including Fiery and Print Server configurations, and helps train our Installation Technicians so they’re well-prepared to answer client questions and provide a smooth experience during installs.

Each team member offers their own expertise and perspective, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how we deliver exceptional service and solutions. While these are the individuals you’ll interact with most often, they’re backed by a team of over 100 professionals working behind the scenes to help us reach our shared goals.

Would definitely request him again if needed!" - Wood County Information Technology
